POSITION: Screen Printer

Job Overview:

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Screen Printer to join our team part-time, with the potential to move into full-time. As a Screen Printer, you will operate and maintain screen printing equipment to produce high-quality printed apparel. You will work closely with the design team and production staff to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining excellent print quality and accuracy. The ideal candidate should have a strong eye for detail, exceptional hand-eye coordination, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and prepare screen printing equipment, including screens, squeegees, inks, and other necessary materials.
• Review artwork and job orders to ensure accuracy and proper alignment for printing.
• Mix and adjust inks to achieve desired colors and consistency.
• Load and unload garments or other items onto the printing machine, ensuring proper placement and registration.
• Operate an automatic screen printing press to apply designs onto surfaces.
• Monitor and adjust printing parameters, such as pressure, speed, and temperature, to maintain optimal print quality.
• Inspect printed items for defects, such as streaks, registration errors, or color inconsistencies, and make necessary adjustments.
• Perform routine maintenance on printing equipment, including cleaning screens, replacing worn-out parts, and troubleshooting issues.
• Collaborate with the design team to ensure artwork and design specifications meet printing requirements.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
• Meet production targets and deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret and follow job orders, design specifications, and artwork instructions.
• Basic understanding of color theory and color matching.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot printing issues.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Effective time management and organizational skills.
• Physical stamina and dexterity to perform repetitive tasks and occasionally lift 30-50 lbs.
• Flexibility to work in shifts or overtime, if required.

Preferred, but not required:

• Proficient in operating automatic screen printing equipment.
• Experience as a Screen Printer or similar role, preferably in a commercial printing environment.
• Strong knowledge of screen printing techniques, including color separation, ink mixing, and screen preparation.
• Familiarity with different types of inks, substrates, and printing techniques.
